1. Overview

Welcome to Her Homestead, a sole proprietorship based in Bothwell, Ontario, Canada.

By using this website, placing an order, booking a rental, or submitting content, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions (“Terms”).

These Terms apply to all areas of the site, including:

Online Shop – Dahlia tubers, plants, and other products

Rental Platform – Celebration and Tool rentals

Dahlia Library & Directory – User-submitted information and reviews

Your continued use of the site indicates your acceptance of these Terms and any updates posted here.

2. Payment & Currency

All prices are listed in Canadian dollars (CAD) and are subject to applicable Canadian sales taxes.

Accepted payment methods include Stripe, PayPal, Interac e-Transfer, Klarna, and Afterpay.

Orders and rentals are processed once payment is received in full.

3. Shipping & Delivery

Shipping Area: Her Homestead ships within Canada only.

Pre-orders & Ready to Ship: Both types may appear in the shop. Payment is taken at checkout.

Processing Times: Shipping dates may vary due to weather and inventory. You’ll receive email confirmation when your order ships.

Risk of Loss: Once products leave our premises, they become the buyer’s responsibility during transit.

4. Rentals – Celebration & Tools

Booking: Rentals can be booked directly online or by phone.

Pickup Only: All rentals must be picked up at 30014 West Bothwell Road, Bothwell, ON N0P 1C0.

Security Deposit: A refundable deposit is required for each rental. Deposits are refunded to the original payment method once items are returned on time and in original condition.

Alternative collateral (an “item of value”) may be accepted at Her Homestead’s discretion.

Returns & Late Fees: Items returned more than 1 hour late incur an additional 24-hour rental charge.

Damage or Loss: If a rental item is lost, damaged, or returned in poor condition, the deposit is forfeited.

Liability: Renters assume all risk for safe transport, operation, and use. Her Homestead is not liable for injuries, property damage, or misuse.

5. Dahlia Library & Directory

Purpose: The Library & Directory is a free, community-based resource for Canadian growers.

Listings are for reference only and are not products for sale.

User Submissions: All text and photos are user-submitted and may vary in accuracy or appearance depending on growing conditions.

Her Homestead may edit, format, or remove submissions at any time.

No Compensation: Submissions are voluntary and unpaid.

Trademark Notice: All KA’s® varieties are trademarked by Santa Cruz Dahlias and Kristine Albrecht. Trademarks are acknowledged wherever referenced.

6. Content & Intellectual Property

All site content—including text, photos, graphics, and design—is owned by Her Homestead or its contributors.

You may view, print, or download content for personal, non-commercial use only.

Reproduction, resale, or redistribution without written consent is prohibited.

7. Accuracy & Disclaimer

While we strive for accuracy, Her Homestead does not warrant that product descriptions, prices, or information are error-free.

All items, listings, and materials are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

Her Homestead is not responsible for:

Weather, pests, or growing conditions beyond our control

User error, negligence, or storage mishandling

Damage or loss caused by misuse of rentals or tools

Variations in colour, size, or performance of plants

Her Homestead collects only the information voluntarily provided through orders, rentals, forms, or submissions.

Our hosting platform (Odoo) uses basic cookies and analytics to improve website functionality.

By using this website, you consent to such standard data practices.

Communicate updates, confirmations, and notices

We never sell or share personal information.

These Terms are governed by and interpreted under the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein.

Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Ontario, Canada.

12. Changes to Terms

Her Homestead reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time.

Changes take effect immediately upon posting. Continued use of the site means you accept the revised Terms.
